What material are the boots/slippers made of?

Bergstein boots are made of natural rubber. This material is supple, sturdy and perfect for outdoor adventures: from running down the street to stomping in the puddles. The slippers are made of pure virgin wool. This wool feels soft, keeps feet warm and breathes well, so that children's feet stay comfortable — even indoors.

Which shoe size should I choose?

Children's feet experience it all: running down the street, splashing through puddles and climbing trees. That's why it's important that youngsters wear a well-fitting boot. Children's feet sometimes grow faster than you think, so it's important to measure them regularly. A child's feet are still very mobile; it is not unusual for children to go round in shoes that are too small for a period. The wrong shoe size can contribute to foot problems later in life. How do you go about measuring your child's feet and how do you know what's the right shoe size? We have set it all out clearly for you here!

It is best to try on boots and slippers in a store. This way, you can be sure that they fit your child's feet properly. You can find our collection at many stores near you. Check out the points of sale near you here

Maintenance

How do I clean the boots?

Playing outside is the most fun thing you can have. Preferably in large puddles with lots of mud or even sand. No need to worry about getting your boots dirty as that's mum or dad's job. Our Rainboots and Winter Boots are made of natural rubber. Natural rubber can be cleaned in lukewarm water, a small amount of mild detergent and a sponge. If puddles featured large at play time and the boots got wet inside, then remove the insole and dry them upside down in a well-ventilated area with a constant temperature. Note: Don't dry boots next to a heat source or in direct sunlight. If natural rubber is dried too quickly, it can lose its natural moisture content. If you want to give your boots an extra treat, then use a natural rubber spray.

How do I clean the slippers?

Our Cozy's are made for warm feet indoors. They like snuggling but they don't like water. Did they get a little dirty? No problem. You can easily remove stains with a damp cotton cloth with a little bit of green soap. Note: let the slippers dry slowly at room temperature. This way, the pure new wool stays soft and beautiful. Never place the slippers in the sun or on a heat source.

Can the boots/slippers be machine washed?

No, the boots and slippers are not machine washable. The boots are made of natural rubber, a natural material that can dry out or be damaged by washing at a high temperature. The slippers are made of pure new wool and stay best when you take care of them in a different way.

What should I do if my boots are wet inside?

Has there been a lot of stomping in the puddles and did the boots get wet inside? Remove the insole and dry them upside down in a place with a constant temperature and plenty of fresh air. Note: Do not dry the boots near the heater or in direct sunlight. If natural rubber dries too quickly, it can dry out. Do you want to take extra care of the boots? Then use a natural rubber spray.
